The Ethics Centre

I am the Director of the Centre for Professional and Applied Ethics at the University of Manitoba. The Centre promotes research and discussion on a wide range of ethical, social, political and legal issues. We frequently sponsor public talks and forums, on topics of interest to academics, students and the public. We do not promote any particular perspective or set of views. Instead, we try to encourage free and open debate.

We support academic research by providing fellowships to University of Manitoba faculty. We are also involved with the community outside the university. We sponsor an annual high school essay competition. We work with the Manitoba Association for Rights and Liberties on a variety of public events, including the annual Ethics Slam and the Manitoba and Canada High School Ethics Bowls.
